Avantium, a Dutch technology company with operations in the energy sector, has announced results of the first engine tests of its new biofuel, Furanics, which can be derived from sugars and other carbohydrates.
The company successfully completed an engine test to demonstrate the potential of Furnanics. The test was carried out by Intertek in the Netherlands. The company tested a wide range of blends of Furanics with regular diesel. The tests yielded positive results for all blends tested.
